This position plans, develops, implements, promotes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis safety and security program ensuring the health, safety, and security of employees and residents and minimizing worker's compensation risk; maintaining compliance with Federal, State and local regulations; evaluating, researching, and communicating legislation to appropriate personnel; investigating work site accidents; and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and visitors.

Bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Risk Management Control, Occupational Safety, Safety
Management Science, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a closely related field AND on year of a professional level experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in any field AND two years of professional-level experience;
OR
Three years of professional-level experience (an Associate’s degree may substitute for 6 months of experience) in one or a combination of the following areas:
In addition to the above listed education and/or experience, you must also have:* Knowledge of State Health Department regulations.
