Safety Coordinator, Construction

Timber Walk is hiring a Project Safety Coordinator for our client in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our client is one of the oldest and most respected General Contractors in the state.

Staffing Type: Contract 1099

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Project Duration: Approximately April 2024 to Mid-October 2024

Scope of Project: Onsite Safety oversite for the construction of a new data center

Must be onsite 40-60 hours or more each week.

This is not a remote position.

· BCSP, STS-C, Required

· OSHA 510, Required

· First Aid, CPR, AED, Narcan, Blood Borne Pathogens certifications

· Training in Emergency Procedures

· 3 years of hands-on construction safety experience on multi-employer commercial construction projects

· 3 years working with concrete and masonry trades

· Experience with and working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction standards

· Be able to identify hazards in the field and offer recommendations to correct and improve those activities

· Willingness to work within General Contractors safety management system and framework

· Experience with conducting safety training and leading safety meetings

· Use of safety inspection software program(s) to complete required reports

· Understanding of and ability to write safety permits and pre task plans

· Ability to write and work with construction teams to build Pre-Task Plans or Job Hazard Analysis

· A team player willing to work with project leadership, off-site safety leadership and field employees

· Able to meet deadlines, and work independently without direct supervision, as well as in a team

· Experience with Microsoft/Google applications and standard office equipment

· Willing to work in outdoor construction conditions

· Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Willingness to take and pass auxiliary safety classes and or certifications as needed

· Willing to work overtime as needed

· Ability to pass background check and fitness for duty test
