Objective:


To translate client design intent into fully coordinated and workable rockwork 3D models and 2D technical drawings intended for use of fabrication. To help obtain all necessary client and authority approvals and to then lead all technical detail design efforts during all phases of the design, fabrication, and installation process.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Expected duties and responsibilities in addition to those listed under Rockwork Designer I, II III:
  • Assist BIM staff, Quality Control staff and Document Control staff as needed.
  • Lead client meetings for design coordination, and clash detection/resolution.
  • Attend to (design and engineering related) site issues, join site walks and inspections, and help carry out surveys as needed.
  • Communicate with and offer technical expertise to GCs, subcontractors, vendors, and clients in a way that helps to efficiently complete scope of work while fostering new relationships and building upon existing relationships.
  • Interact with design personnel to define and solve design, fabrication and installation issues and implement cost reduction ideas.
  • Suggest and implement design and engineering process improvements in close collaboration with Technical Design Lead, Engineering Manager, BIM Manager, and Director of Design.
  • Oversee and lead facility impact coordination and necessary drawing and engineering documentation.
  • Oversee and lead as-built and as-installed design documentation and deliverables.
  • Oversee and lead drawing submittals to client, vendors, third party engineers and shop floor.
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive scope-of-work and bid-proposal documents.
  • Assist with documenting, presenting, and negotiating of design change orders and design schedule impacts.


Qualifications/Experience/ Skills and Attributes


Required:


  • Degree holder in Architecture, Design or Engineering field, or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years� experience in technical design, production design, or architectural design position.
  • Possessing high attention to detail and being very well organized.
  • Possessing good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and on a regular basis-verbally, in writing and through sketches, models and designs.
  • Strong interpersonal and personal skills including an ability to adapt to constant change or sense of urgency and ability to multitask while communicating and prioritizing effectively.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and ability to maintain an even temper under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy, attention to detail and within budget and time constraints.
  • Solid understanding of architectural and technical fabrication drawings.
  • Solid understanding of fabrication means and methods.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of general design and engineering principles
  • Solid knowledge of occupational health & safety standard requirements
  • Solid knowledge of local and international building codes
  • Solid knowledge of client specific standards and specifications


Software:


  • Highly proficient in Maxon Zbrush, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Rhino, and Bluebeam software.
  • Highly proficient in general computer and documentation processes.
  • Ability to clearly view 3D objects in 3D space and maneuver efficiently in 3D modeling software environments.
  • Must be familiar with using scripts and software plugins.
  • Design Lead: Technical skills: Expert level 9 or higher on a 1-10 scale, minimal 7+ years� experience.


Preferred:


  • Experience in Autodesk Inventor, BIM360/Collaborate, and Maya
  • Familiarity with Procore software

Working conditions


  • Hours: 8am - 5pm (MON-FRI with Saturdays as needed)
  • This position allows hybrid remote only on an �as needed†basis and will require approval based on Business needs


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
