JOB SUMMARY: The Kiowa Road Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at building Roadways, on heavy construction project sites. They may prepare sites by clearing or cleaning. The laborer will be capable of operating and maintaining various machines, loading and unl0ading heavy materials. or putting together or taking apart temporary structures. May operate hand and power tools of all types. To do this role you should be physically fit, reliable and a hard worker.


RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Help equipment operators. carpenters and other skilled laborers when necessary.
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning or clearing obstacles and hazards.
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures such as fencing.
  • Remove, fill or compact earth.
  • Follow instructions from the supervisor.
  • Ready to learn on the job training when necessary.
  • Perform site clean-up.
  • Any other duty assigned by supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must know and practice safe work site procedures.
  • Must have basic math skills, be able to measure and read measurements.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs or push or pull objects and climb in and out of machinery with or without the use of a ladder.
  • Kneeling, couching, bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, standing and walking on uneven ground.
  • Display willingness, initiative and teamwork, to perform duties requested.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma State driver�s license and be insurable under the Kiowa Tribe's Driving Policy.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
  • Positions are subject to random drug testing.
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Stand and walk for long distances.
  • Stoop, bend, kneel, climb, handle objects with hands, and carry equipment and supplies.
  • Position requires lifting up to 50 lb.
  • Work is performed indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to natural weather conditions may occur while performing duties.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required.
