This non-patient-facing RN role plays a critical part in coordinating time-sensitive, emergent patient transfers across the state to Providence Alaska Medical Center. Ideal for RNs who thrive in a fast-paced, communication-heavy environment.- Coordinate and facilitate interfacility transfers across Alaska.
- Serve as the central communication point between sending and receiving providers.
- Connect referring physicians with attending providers in real-time.
- Handle all communications via phone and document appropriately in Epic.
- Retrieve and organize documentation necessary for patient transfer.
- Float to inpatient units as needed within skillset (ER/ICU/Stepdown).
- License: Alaska RN License required at time of submission.
- Certifications: BLS (Required)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Experience in ER Triage, IMC/Stepdown, or ICU required
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in emergent situations
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with change
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Shift: Variable (3x12s) - 6:00 AM-6:30 PM or 12:00 PM-Midnight
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Not available
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Charting System: Epic
