We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health disorders, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and medical history.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provide catheter care, airway management, and other necessary medical interventions.
- Assist in discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients returning to their communities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilize Epic for electronic health record documentation and patient management.
- Engage with patients with disabilities, providing appropriate support and care strategies.
- Perform suture care as needed and assist in medical imaging processes when required.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Previous experience in acute care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and practices is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is desirable.
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) usage is beneficial.
