Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Startup and shut down machine as recommended by maintenance.
  
• Operate both overhead and jib style cranes.
  
• Operate fork truck.
  
• Operate machine in such a manner to meet Hawkeye quality standards.
  
• Operate machines in both a safe and productive manner.
  
• Perform required preventative maintenance.
  
• All other duties as assigned.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-year machinist degree and/or previous work experience as a machinist
  
• Setup and operate the following machines:
  

+ Lathe

+ Mill

+ Drill press

+ Saw

+ Waterjet

+ Laser

• Read and interpret prints with limited direction.
  
• Certified fork truck operator
  
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required.
  
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
  
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
  
• Have good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to safety.
  
• Take personal ownership and pride in the quality of the work in the department.
  
• Ability to comply with all work-related deadlines.
  
• Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
