North Suffolk is looking for a
Recovery Support Specialist to join our Residential Meridian House Team! The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and service planning, individual and group counseling.This position is part time; 20 hours per week. Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Friday and Monday 5PM-10PM.
- Supervise and/or participate with individuals, based on their needs in self-help skills, activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time and community integration.
- Implement, teach and assist individuals with treatment plan goals and objective on a consistent basis.
- Assist individuals in scheduling routine and preventative medical appointments, obtain and disseminate all reports to appropriate team members.
- Attend all required trainings within prescribed timelines.
- Transport individuals in agency vehicle as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
+ High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
+ Bachelor’s Degree and/or CADAC preferred.
- Experience:
+ A minimum of one year full-time substance abuse counseling experience.
+ If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years current continuous sobriety.
- Skills/Other:
+ Must have a Massachusetts driver’s license.
+ Must have the ability to complete CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
