Job Summary:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality and Analytical Manager to oversee daily operations in our laboratory and product quality. The ideal candidate will manage analytical chemists, quality engineers, and laboratory staff, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, develop and validate testing procedures, and support research, production, and quality assurance initiatives. The candidate will improve our quality management system, analytical capabilities and talent development for the company.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and manage laboratory personnel, including Analytical chemists, quality engineers, lab technicians, and interns.
  • Coordinate and schedule lab activities to support production, R&D, and QA/QC testing needs.
  • Lead in the quality improvement initiatives and projects to enhance overall product quality.
  • Lead the analytical capabilities improvement through equipment/methods development and talent development
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods.
  • Review and approve analytical data, test reports, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Train and mentor lab staff on technical procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and manage lab equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, R&D) on projects and problem-solving.
  • Participate in audits, both internal and external, and support corrective action planning.
  • Stay current with new laboratory technologies and industry best practices.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor�s or master�s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an analytical chemist role and chemical laboratory, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills through data analysis, fundamental chemistry to identify root causes of quality issues.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, GC, HPLC, DSC, FT-IR, Viscometry, etc.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience in industrial chemistry, materials science, or polymer chemistry. Polymer and PET experience are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies. A green belt or black belt certification is preferred.
