Position Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and driven

QA Manager to oversee the quality assurance and inspection operations for high-precision rotating equipment and components. This leadership role is responsible for managing QA personnel, developing and implementing quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, ISO), and driving continuous improvement across the organization.


The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and inspection knowledge-particularly with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors)-combined with proven leadership and quality systems experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Team & Department Leadership:


  • Lead and manage the QA/Inspection team, including technicians and inspectors.
  • Develop training programs to enhance technical inspection skills and NDT certifications.
  • Assign and prioritize QA tasks to support production goals and customer deadlines.
  • Conduct performance reviews, mentorship, and development planning for QA staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and quality excellence.


Quality Assurance Program Management:


  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, company standards, and regulatory codes (e.g., ASME, ISO, API).
  • Oversee final inspection and testing of rotating equipment, including balancing, alignment, and NDT results.
  • Lead internal audits, manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and drive root cause analysis for nonconformities.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of metrology and inspection equipment (FARO Arms, CMMs, etc.).


Technical Support & Process Oversight:


  • Provide hands-on support for complex inspections, failure investigations, and dimensional checks.
  • Support or lead reverse engineering projects and validation of replacement parts.
  • Analyze vibration and balancing data and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, machining, field service, and operations to resolve quality issues.


Supplier & Purchasing Oversight:


  • Review and approve incoming materials and supplier documentation.
  • Oversee purchasing of QA-related materials and equipment.
  • Manage material traceability and ensure all quality records are complete, accurate, and auditable.


Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor�s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Quality Management preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in QA/QC for rotating equipment or heavy industrial machinery.
  • At least 3-5 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical tolerancing.
  • Proficient in use of Portable CMMs, Laser Trackers, FARO Arms, and other inspection tools.
  • Familiarity with balancing machines, vibration analysis, and rotating machinery fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ASME, and API quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • ASNT Level II certification in VT (Visual Testing); PT, MT certifications are a plus.
  • Vibration Analysis certification (Category I or II).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Experience with 3D modeling/reverse engineering tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Geomagic).
  • OSHA 30, confined space, or rigging/lifting certifications.
