Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - License in Washington State


Job Summary:


The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide mental health care services to individuals, families, and groups, assessing and diagnosing mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and delivering therapeutic interventions. The PNP works in collaboration with a team of healthcare providers and may specialize in a specific age group or psychiatric disorder.


Responsibilities:


  • Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including patient interviews, behavioral observations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Evaluate patients' physical and mental health history, current symptoms, and psychosocial factors.
  • Diagnose psychiatric disorders based on DSM-5 criteria.
  • Treatment Planning and Management:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
  • Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and therapeutic response.
  • Medication Management:
  • Prescribe, adjust, and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Monitor patients for adverse effects, tolerance, and effectiveness of medications.
  • Provide guidance on medication adherence, interactions, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Therapeutic Interventions:
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, or motivational interviewing.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals to provide holistic care, including psychologists, counselors, social workers, and primary care providers.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • Identify and manage psychiatric emergencies, providing immediate interventions as needed.
  • Develop crisis plans and connect patients with appropriate emergency or community resources.
  • Collaboration and Advocacy:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for patients.
  • Act as an advocate for patients to access additional services, such as rehabilitation, housing, and community support.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records of patient encounters, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations, including HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.


Qualifications:


  • Master�s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health.
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • State licensure as an APRN with prescriptive authority.
  • At least 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing or a related field (varies by employer).
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and communication.

Compensation:


· Initial intake - $60 / With Add on - codes $80


· Follow up - $40 / With Add on - codes $50
