Job Description Summary

The Prospect Management Analyst reports to the Senior Prospect Management Analyst and helps maximize the utilization of prospects at the University. The Prospect Management Analyst works with the Prospect Development team to consult regularly with schools, centers and fundraising units to support their fundraising goals and objectives. This position will work closely with Advancement Prospect Development colleagues to implement the goal of identifying actionable prospects for schools and centers with the highest likelihood of establishing a philanthropic relationship with the University. This position also analyzes the health of prospect portfolios using a wide variety of metrics including optimization rates, prospect aging and prospect engagement and will collaborate in the development of dashboards and reports to make this data accessible and actionable for fundraisers, and to advise on strategies for major donors.

The Prospect Management Analyst works with the Prospect Management Committee to ensure that the established prospect management rules are implemented. This role works on a team of 3-5 staff.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities* Support the Prospect Management Committee to ensure that the established prospect management rules are implemented.

• Review the health of prospect portfolios using a variety of metrics including optimization rates, prospect aging and prospect engagement. Develop dashboards and procedures to make this data actionable for fundraising areas.
  
• Consult with fundraising units to develop prospect development strategies that align with fundraising unit goals and objectives. Collaborate with Analytics and Reporting to help operationalize data modeling, scoring, and wealth screening to surface high-potential prospects.
  
• Provide training and guidance to staff on prospect optimization techniques, tools and procedures.
  

Qualifications* Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Recommend 1-3 years of directly relevant experience in a large, complex University or other non-profit fundraising environment with directly relevant and progressively responsible experience in a large, complex University or other non-profit fundraising environment. Excellent ability to interpret and communicate complex and nuanced prospect management procedures. Demonstrated data analysis skills including experience with dashboard and reporting tools like Tableau/QlikView/Power BI and SQL. Ability to assimilate and summarize large data sets. Excellent written and oral presentation skills. Ability to lead in an intensive and time-focused campaign environment and the ability to manage by influence across multiple and diverse Schools, Centers and other fundraising units.
