The Project Superintendent will oversee all construction activities and field employees, while coordinating with the Project Manager and/or General Superintendent, for each project to ensure the work is completed in a safe, timely, and productive manner. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing large diameter pipeline installations (36in or larger) via traditional open cut methods or trenchless methods that could include jack & bore, hand mine tunneling, or TBM tunneling.
- Full knowledge and understanding of all project plans and specifications
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds both project specifications and company quality standards
- Manage time effectively and maintain primary presence in the field
- Keep detailed daily written records and notes
- Ability to perform construction staking/survey using basic instruments, verify foreman surveying
- Understand tools and materials required to complete each task and ensuring foreman has required tools needed and maintaining these tools
- Ability to plan out activities two to three weeks ahead
- Schedule all day to day needs such as trucking, equipment, materials, etc. ahead of time and locate vendors if necessary for job needs
- Ability to manage multiple crews and oversee multiple subcontractors that can be spread across multiple jobsites
- Strong understanding of large utility construction, construction site operations, and/or jack & bore/tunneling methodology
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in relatable field management is required
This role requires the candidate to work a large amount of time on an active underground utility construction site.
