Utilize knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to lead the process to identify, assess, and prioritize project issues and risks using recommended tools and disciplines. Drive actions to minimize, monitor, and control risks and issues and to maximize the most positive outcomes. Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Responsible for the on-site project execution of Data Center Projects. Act as primary point of contact for the site during delivery and commissioning. Coordinate on-site delivery with general contractor. Plan and supervise commissioning, including providing detailed reporting of labor usage, installation supervision of enclosure technicians and Cummins technicians, and management of commissioning invoicing and project budget. Assist with vendor management, lead issue resolution management for warranty and vendor issues, and serve as Cummins on-site safety lead. Lead multiple engineering projects from inception to completion, facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project, establish project performance goals, design project plan, develop timeline, identify project milestones, and track performance against performance goals and timeline. Plan and monitor project budget, conduct comprehensive research and analysis, and provide valuable input into the design and development of project plans and timelines. Use quality tools to identify areas of risk within a project, and work with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions. Manage a list of project deliverables using recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project include all the work required to complete the project successfully. Review technical documents to plan work and recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, and performance. Document technical design details and identify new applications for existing technologies. Select the tools, equipment, and technologies for use in projects, as well as develop research plans for the project.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Service or Validation Engineer, Project Manager, or related position. Experience to include: Identify project issues and risks; Implement operating procedures; On-site project execution; Commissioning planning; Labor usage reporting; Vendor management; Warranty and vendor issue resolution; Monitor project budget; Design and develop project plans and timelines; Project management tools and processes.
