Production Helper

The Production Helper at Allied Stone plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, assisting Machine Operators to precisely cut granite and marble according to project specifications. Collaborating closely with design teams, and project managers, the Saw Helper ensures accurate measurements, shapes stone materials, and applies finishing techniques to achieve custom designs and high-quality standards. This role requires strong technical skills in machinery operation, attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship, contributing to Allied Stone's reputation for excellence in stone fabrication.

• Assist Champion Operators in operating park saws to precisely cut granite or marble according to project specifications.
  
• Support accurate measurements and calculations under the guidance of Stone Saw Operators to ensure the proper cutting and shaping of stone materials.
  
• Collaborate closely with the team to achieve custom designs, ensuring precision in every cut.
  
• Work together with Champion Operators, design teams, project managers, and fellow fabricators to ensure seamless coordination and project execution.
  
• Aid in applying finishing techniques, such as polishing and grinding, under the supervision of Stone Saw Operators, to enhance the visual appeal and durability of stone products.
  
• Inspect and assist in refining cut surfaces under the guidance of Stone Saw Operators to meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

• Proficiency in operating park saws and other stone fabrication machinery.
  
• Understanding of safety protocols and best practices for machinery operation in a manufacturing environment.
  

Skills:

• Accurate measurement and cutting of stone materials to project specifications.
  
• Precision in shaping stone to achieve desired designs and finishes.
  
• Troubleshooting and resolving minor issues with machinery to ensure continuous operation.
  

Abilities:

• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on manufacturing machinery.
  
• Knowledge of quality control processes and ability to inspect finished products for quality assurance.
  
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Stone Saw Operators, design teams, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  

Work Environment: The work environment in the stone manufacturing industry may involve exposure to dust, noise, and various weather conditions. The employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and move heavy stone materials.
  
• Stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  
• Dexterity and precision for operating machinery and handling stone products.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  
• Technical or vocational training in machine operation or a related field.
  
• Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in stone fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment.
  
• Technical understanding of Omega stone fabrication machines and related equipment.
  

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Completion of trade or technical school in machine operation or a related field.
  
• Previous experience in stone manufacturing.
