Busy Hematology Oncology office needs full time authorizations specialist


JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a friendly, caring, knowledgeable, detailed-oriented, dependable, and flexible individual who has the ability to adapt to a face-paced, ever-changing environment. Bi-lingual spanish speaking is a plus.


Responsibilities:


  • Knowledgeable in Pharmacy processing information
  • Prior experience with QS1 Pharmacy software is preferred
  • Collect Medication Co-Pays and post cop-pay to patient�s account
  • Maintain Pharmacy compliancy logs
  • Communicate to patients Co-Pay responsibilities and be knowledgeable in explaining pharmacy benefits to patients
  • Must be able to learn new medications, including indications and correlating treatment regimens
  • Prior experience in completing Medication Prior Authorizations via phone or electronic platform (CoverMyMeds)
  • Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to self-direct and prioritize.
  • Must have a team-oriented mentality and be able to communicate effectively in this fast-paced Pharmacy environment.
  • The applicant should be very organized with attention to detail and have great interpersonal skills, high integrity, be dependable and a good listener and an empathetic communicator.
  • Directly communicate with insurance companies to facilitate the approval of medications and check status of pending authorizations
  • Keep complete and accurate records of patient communications
  • We are looking for someone with strong phone skills
  • Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information
  • Effectively cope with typical job stress in a professional, calm manner
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all time
  • Answer multiple line telephone system in prompt and courteous manner- taking messages
  • Schedule appointments
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information

JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Experience in completing prior authorization forms required
  • At least two years of pharmacy experience preferred
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.


EDUCATION:

High school degree or GED required.


EXPERIENCE:


Prior pharmacy authorization experience preferred. Ability to do authorizations, knowledge of health insurance plans and referrals

Computer/EMR knowledge is a plus
