The Community School is a small community and play based preschool located in the heart of Downtown Maynard. We believe in learning through play, nature-based activities, and community connections. We are looking to add two qualified and dedicated teachers to our warm and nurturing staff.
We are a school year program open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. We also offer a 5-week Summer Program to our families.
We have current openings for both full time and part time teachers.
We are looking for teachers who are committed to developing caring connections with the children in our program while providing them with engaging learning experiences.
The main responsibilities of a Preschool Teacher at our program include supporting the overall development of the classroom, helping children to become more independent and forging strong individual relationships with students and their families. We are developing our outdoor classroom and accompanying curriculum and are looking for staff that enjoy the outdoors in all seasons.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Professional Certification from the MA Department of Early Education and Care required (Teacher PS or Lead Teacher PS)
- Work with children; assist in keeping a classroom clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons
- Encourage children to explore and discover.
- Work with children to foster a love of learning and a sense of accomplishment.
- Plan and implement a curriculum tailored to the children's interests incorporating outdoor learning, nature-based activities, and community connections.
- Prepare materials for the daily and weekly activities.
- Ability to work during a summer program in July/August a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 - 35 per week
