â— Designs and maintain classroom climate to include visual aids related to curriculum and age/stage of development
â— Monitors talents, special abilities, disabilities, deficiencies or problems of each individual child, documents issues/concerns as needed in a log book and notifies the Director
â— Prepares thorough evaluations for children for conferences
â— Guides children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
â— Attends in-service training, conferences, staff meetings and parent meetings as required
â— Collaborates with the preschool team and other Prince of Peace staff to plan and execute special events, including but not limited to open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and community outreach initiatives
â— Maintains a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
â— Supervises indoor and outdoor activities adhering to all health and safety procedures, engages with children in a variety of activities while maintaining clear and consistent routines and expectations
· Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods including knowledge of educational techniques
Must be able to lift a child or children with a total weight of 45 pounds. Conduct activities involving substantial standing, walking, and moderate sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending on a frequent basis.
