Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and licensed

Plumber to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will bring solid plumbing knowledge, great customer service skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.


This position is based in

Hazlehurst, MS. Candidates may choose to stay in the shared housing provided (see details below) or commute from Jackson, MS, which is approximately 35-40 minutes away by car. Transportation is included for job-related travel, but commuting from Jackson is at the candidate’s discretion.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets, water heaters).
  • Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals on construction projects.
  • Perform routine inspections and accurately diagnose plumbing issues using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Assist with light construction tasks as needed (e.g., carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, ceilings, basic electrical).
  • Prepare job estimates and customer quotes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, tasks completed, and materials used.
  • Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes, safety standards, and best practices.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid state plumbing license.
  • 5-12 years of experience as a journeyman plumber.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems (water supply and drainage).
  • Familiarity with materials such as PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Professional, customer-oriented attitude.


Work Schedule & Compensation:


  • $15/hour, negotiable based on experience.
  • 40 hours per week, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day.
  • No overtime offered.
  • Immediate start available.


Housing & Transportation:


  • Shared housing provided (~$500/month, utilities included).
  • Separate bedrooms or separate beds in shared rooms.
  • Family visits are welcome, but guests may not reside in the housing.
  • Transportation provided to and from work sites.
  • Travel assistance provided to arrive at job site location.
  • Mileage reimbursement at $0.70/mile for personal vehicle owners (one reimbursement per car).
