Pickleball Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pickleball and experience working with players of various ages and skill sets. This role involves ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants. The Instructor will play a vital role in fostering a pickleball community and development for players to suit their specific goals and needs.

• Plan and deliver engaging pickleball lessons and clinics
  
• Provide top notch pickleball instruction
  
• Ensure the safety of all participants by maintaining a vigilant presence during activities.
  
• Manage court behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  
• Assess player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop comprehensive programs that meet the needs of players.
  
• Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are safe and ready for use.
  
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding player progress and any concerns.
  
• Support company goals by promoting other company events and memberships
  

• Proven experience in teaching or coaching pickleball.
  
• Must be certified by one or more of the following organizations: PPR, IPTPA and/or PCI
  
• Excellent behavior management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  
• Ability to engage players of varying skill levels and backgrounds effectively.
  
• Strong communication skills to interact with players, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  
• A passion for promoting community, relationships and health and fitness through pickleball.
  
• Excellent time management and proven history of timeliness
  

cvilleSMASH is the first dedicated indoor pickleball facility in Charlottesville, VA with 9 indoor courts, food & beverage and event space. Opening September 2025 in Seminole Square Shopping Center. Instructors will be 1099 independent contractor positions.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $72.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
