Schedule: Full Time, 12 HR Night Shift, 7p - 7a Thursday - Saturday
POSITION SUMMARY
Assist nursing staff in patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse staff (LPN & RN)
Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.
Maintains atmosphere, which ensures South Georgia Medical Center�s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently supported and enforced.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides personal care and assists patients with ADLs.
Assists RNs & LPNs with patient care.
Performs and assists with procedures.
Assists in equipment/supply maintenance.
Not all competencies listed may be implemented in every nursing unit due to variation of services provided.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Graduate of PCT course strongly preferred.
Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification preferred.
General office skills and medical terminology preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Works primarily in hospital or clinical setting.
Requires considerable standing, mental effort, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, in excess of fifty (50) pounds, pushing objects, (wheelchairs, and beds).
Comfortable setting indoors, schedules may include working weekends and holidays.
May be subjected to high levels of stress.
Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases, on a daily basis.
Uses medical equipment, computer, telecommunication devices and patient information systems.
Generally assigned to consistent shift and unit but may be required to be temporarily re-assigned to meet organizational needs.
Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by Saunders Method (very heavy).
