Department: INPATIENT REHAB NURSING


Schedule: Full Time, 12 HR Night Shift, 7p - 7a Thursday - Saturday


POSITION SUMMARY


  • Assist nursing staff in patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse staff (LPN & RN)
  • Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.
  • Maintains atmosphere, which ensures South Georgia Medical Center�s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently supported and enforced.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides personal care and assists patients with ADLs.
  • Assists RNs & LPNs with patient care.
  • Performs and assists with procedures.
  • Assists in equipment/supply maintenance.
  • Not all competencies listed may be implemented in every nursing unit due to variation of services provided.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Graduate of PCT course strongly preferred.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification preferred.
  • General office skills and medical terminology preferred.


WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION


  • Works primarily in hospital or clinical setting.
  • Requires considerable standing, mental effort, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, in excess of fifty (50) pounds, pushing objects, (wheelchairs, and beds).
  • Comfortable setting indoors, schedules may include working weekends and holidays.
  • May be subjected to high levels of stress.
  • Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases, on a daily basis.
  • Uses medical equipment, computer, telecommunication devices and patient information systems.
  • Generally assigned to consistent shift and unit but may be required to be temporarily re-assigned to meet organizational needs.
  • Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by Saunders Method (very heavy).
