The rendering of accurate third party billings to organizations responsible for payment of medical services.


Responsibilities


. Bill all inpatient and outpatient accounts assigned by the Unit Billing Supervisor.


  • Collect and make payment arrangements when applicable for all accounts assigned within ninety (90) days after first notice of delinquency.


  • Responsible for all refunding on any over payments made by third parties or individuals within assigned area or responsibility.


  • Substantiate and dispose of all unapplied activity payments in assigned area of responsibility.


  • Handle all patient and third party inquiries regarding the status of any account within assigned area responsibility.

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
