Northwestern Bank, a locally owned, community bank that has proudly served the greater Chippewa Valley community since 1904, is currently seeking a part-time custodian for our downtown Chippewa Falls location. This position will be responsible for the daily cleaning duties, including but not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, and mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and other common areas, emptying and carrying out trash, cleaning windows, etc. A full job description can be found below.

In addition, this position will require the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and to reach high countertops, bookshelves, windows, etc. This position will work approximately 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 5pm - 9pm.

Responsible for maintaining a safe, neat and clean appearance of the grounds, building and parking lot. Due to the wide variety of different tasks, may or may not perform all duties listed.
1. Ensures the building and grounds are in good repair, safe, neat and clean. Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and "as needed" tasks according to schedule. Arranges work schedule to ensure that the appearance of building and grounds receives top priority.
2. Performs the following maintenance duties
inside the Bank building:DAILY: Vacuums main office and drive-up area. Dusts teller counter tops. Sweeps/damp mops floors and steps. Cleans: break rooms, bathrooms/toilets/sinks, glass doors and drinking fountains. Spot cleans windows and glass doors. Empties waste baskets/replace liners as needed, empties and cleans ashtrays.
WEEKLY: Vacuums all carpeted floor surfaces, removing spots/gum, etc. as needed. Dusts furniture in office area.
AS NECESSARY: Vacuums office furniture. Dusts window sills/blinds/trim. Cleans windows, mirrors, light fixtures, telephones. Replaces light bulbs and tubes. Refills soap/towel dispensers. Moves office supplies/records to store room/vault. Moves furniture.
3. Performs the following maintenance duties
outside the Bank building.DAILY: May need to monitor parking lot for trash, etc.
WEEKLY: Picks up and properly disposes of trash on Bank property. Inspects drive up area for oil spots, applies oil-soak or cleaning compound as needed.
AS NECESSARY: May need to remove snow from entries and drive-up and salt icy sidewalks. May mow lawns, trims edges, trim and water shrubs. Cleans drive-up kiosk system. Washes windows. Cleans carpets. Inspects Bank building and equipment for proper working condition, notifies supervisor of items in need of repair. Cleans horse barn (Thorp only).
4. Maintains an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies.
5. Clean and wash carpet runners.
6. Film and shred old documents as required.
7. May need to clean Popcorn machine daily.
1. Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Reports to the Maintenance Manager. Due to nature of position, will have some contact with almost all other employees in the office. May have contact with service vendors and suppliers. May have access to confidential customer and Bank information.
Quality, accuracy, reliability, friendliness, thoroughness and timeliness of services provided to co-workers; general appearance and cleanliness of grounds and facilities; ability to follow established maintenance schedule and prioritize work responsibilities; cost consciousness and appropriate supply inventory control; effectiveness of communications and development of good working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors; participation in training, maintenance of appropriate attendance record and punctuality; understanding of and adherence to Bank policies and procedures; professional work place appearance and conduct.
Must be able to perform a wide variety of cleaning and general maintenance tasks (use vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, floor scrubber, broom, etc.). Ability to communicate in writing with other employees; willingness to assume responsibility; ability to prioritize work, organize time, and work independently. Requires regular lifting up to 50 lb. (waist high and shoulder high), and the ability to reach high countertops, bookshelves, windows, etc.
Work is performed in a variety of environments. Regular exposure to dirt and dust, moderate lifting and moving of boxes, trash receptacles, and other objects. Outdoor exposure to temperature extremes for grounds maintenance. Frequent exposure to mechanical equipment (power tools, lawn equipment, HVAC, etc.). Must be insurable to drive, to be able to travel to the branches, and wherever needed.
