The Part-Time Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.

The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. They must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.

We are hiring for all days of the week Monday through Sunday, so weekend availability would be a plus. Hourly pay with shifts usually running from 4-7 hours, we are very flexible with scheduling.

• Greet customers in a friendly manner; determine customer needs, and how to exceed their expectations.
  
• Help troubleshoot and solve problems customers face with shipments and services purchased in the store.
  
• Continuously practice good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership.
  
• Deliver exceptional customer service through customer engagement and quality product delivery.
  
• Be knowledgeable of products and services offered and properly promote them to customers.
  
• Identify customer needs and offer additional services which could benefit them.
  
• Receive, sort, and place mail in mailboxes accurately.
  
• Record all sales transactions completely and accurately in the Point of Sale system.
  
• Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.
  
• Receive and prepare documents for printing.
  
• Receive and process packages for shipping, including lifting and weighing packages, accessing shipment manifesting software, and generating labels. May require retrieving packages from customer vehicles when requested.
  
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  
• Process and document damaged shipments, late and lost package claims.
  
• Assist in merchandising the store, including: stocking shelves with product, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of product, informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies.
  
• Perform opening duties: declare starting tender at the register, and load up all software onto POS systems for the day.
  
• Perform end of day duties: counting cash, checks, money orders, and all other transactions accurately at the register and recording information in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  
• Operate copiers, fax machines, binding equipment and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Help customers operate office machines located in the retail area.
  
• General housekeeping duties.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

• High school diploma or GED required
  
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suites, and printing
  
• Outstanding phone and verbal communication skills
  
• Strong written communication skills, including spelling and basic math
  
• Prompt, reliable, and responsible
  
• Able to lift 40+ pounds
  
• Willing and able to work 15 to 20 hours per week in a 7-day work week
  

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.35 - $17.00 per hour
