This position will assist in managing pedestrian and vehicle traffic on campus and will patrol to enforce parking rules and regulations. It will also support building security across campus outside of the fall and spring semesters.


The work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters. Outside of the fall and spring semesters, the schedule will be Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.


  • Please note: This is a full-time, temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent. The current appointment is scheduled to end on July 31, 2026.

Major Responsibilities
Pedestrian Crossing* Assist pedestrians with safely crossing high traffic locations throughout campus.
  • Assist students, faculty, staff and visitors with directions to campus locations.
  • Direct vehicular traffic in order to assist with pedestrian safety.


Enforce Parking Rules
  • Monitor campus parking lots for non-compliant parking violations and issue tickets as appropriate. Monitor ADA- designated spaces, metered parking spaces, and fire lanes for vehicles not in compliance with the parking rules and ticket as appropriate.
  • Enforcement activity will be focused on two parking lots located in the center of North Campus.


Special Event Parking Management
  • Assist with the management of special event parking.
  • Provide coverage for events outside of normal work hours as needed.
  • Assist in setting up and taking down barricades.


Building security
  • Secure doors of buildings throughout campus as directed by police supervisor.


Meters and Signage
  • Maintain parking meters and collect coinage from them when needed.
  • Set up and take down signage when needed.


Functional and Supervisory Relationships

Reports to the Assistant Director of Parking Operations.


Required Qualifications

Must be in possession of a valid NYS Driver’s License, be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, work in inclement weather, and be able to lift heavy objects up to 30 pounds. Applicants must be able to read, speak, and understand English.


  • Successful candidate will be issued a body-worn camera to document interactions with the public.
