The Family Partnership Center (FPC) is a non-profit, grant-funded early childhood program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care through the Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Grant. The FPC promotes the well-being of families by connecting adults, children, and families to one another and to the community and school resources while engaging in developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences. The FPC programming is available to all families in the towns of Ayer, Shirley, Groton, Dunstable, Pepperell, Townsend and Ashby with children from birth through school age. These playgroups serve a diverse group of families who attend various sites throughout the two communities, including the public school and local libraries. Caregivers and their children attend groups together to learn about resources, parenting, and developmentally-appropriate activities for their children as they enjoy the company of other families.Position Summary: 0.5 FTE Position with the Family Partnership Center for a nine-month period. To provide home visitors for the ParentChild+ program, a national program with the goals of supporting parents of 2-3-year-olds by increasing parent-child interactions, promoting child pro-social emotional behavior, and advancing pre-literacy skills. Build strong relationships with families, creating a welcoming and trusting environment to best support the parent while modeling important skills. Ensure that the program is delivered with respect to each familys home language, culture, values, and support parents in their role as their childs first teacher.


Responsibilities:* Visit assigned families twice per week, for thirty minutes each visit.

  • The position requires non-traditional work hours, possibly including early mornings, late afternoons, and evenings.
  • Utilize weekly books or toys at the home visit to model to parents how to use materials to enhance play, language, and all interactions for the purpose of supporting positive child development and strong parent-child relationships.
  • Model for the parent how to respond appropriately to the behavior of two and three-year-old children. Encourage parents to realize their role as the childs first and most important teacher. Supports the familys full involvement in the program
  • Work closely with the program supervisor to recruit, interview, and select families for home visits.
  • Write anecdotal descriptions of the home visits.
  • Complete required assessments of children and parents.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for families.
  • Maintain confidentiality on child/family matters at all times and respect family privacy.
  • Work independently and maintain a schedule for home visits.
  • Attend weekly program meetings and other ParentChild+ required meetings/trainings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
