Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S. news in their list of “Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms†is seeking a Paralegal with 3+ years of litigation experience. Our West Los Angeles Legal Support Department is comprised of highly skilled and motivated individuals, who are seeking a dynamic self-starter to join their growing team!
Job Responsibilities:* Works with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions and other case filings.- Utilizes existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases.
- Drafts discovery demands and responses, including, but not limited to, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection and Requests for Admissions.
- Prepares trial and arbitration hearing binders, as well as processing deposition transcripts.
- Prepares first set of exhibits for motions, discovery responses, timelines, exhibits, etc.
- Reviews outgoing document production, including redacting and Bates stamping.
- Creates Preservation of Evidence Letter and Document Request Letters.
- Performs legal research.
- Processes HIPAA authorizations and follow up with providers for medical records.
- Reviews, summarize and analyze medical records to assist with defense of action.
- Other duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operations.

Qualifications:
- Litigation experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Industry recognized certification from organizations such as ABA, NALA or AACP.
- Experience in using legal database software (NetDocs and West Law preferred).
- Familiarity with legal terminology and principles.
- The ability to analyze legal documents, as well as perform legal research, for accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
