Position Summary:


We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed Outpatient Counselor to provide individual and group counseling to adolescents and adults experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The counselor will support clients through the recovery process, using evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach in a client-centered outpatient setting.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, MI, DBT, trauma-informed care).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Monitor client progress, revise treatment plans as needed, and complete timely clinical documentation.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and skills-based groups on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, emotional regulation, and life skills.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, other clinical staff, case managers, and other community providers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and state licensing boards.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.


Qualifications:


Required:


  • Master�s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Licensure (or eligibility) as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent. Substance use-specific credentials (e.g., CADC, LADAC) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Experience with adolescent and adult populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and clinical documentation standards.


Preferred:


  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an outpatient or community mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive services.
