No weekends, start work at 8:30. Private practice looking for an optometric technician to provide assistance to the doctor to help maximize the doctor's care of the patients.


Work schedule is Monday-Friday, no weekends. No travel requirements.


Job responsibilities include: patient work-up, operate multiple optometric testing machines, special testing, scribing, and instrument cleaning. Certification encouraged but not required. The candidate must have previous experience in an ophthalmology or optometry practice and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • Operate auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, Optos retinal camera, visual field, OCT, Neurolens
  • Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
  • Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
  • Set phoropter to patient RX or re-set to plano (per doctor's request)
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications

Education and/or Experience


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
