Music Teacher

Robert F. Munroe Day School, a vibrant Pre-K through 12 institution, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to inspire and engage students of all ages through a comprehensive and dynamic music program. The ideal candidate will foster a love for music, encourage creative expression, and contribute to a collaborative community that values academic excellence, artistic exploration, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Excellence in Music:

â— Plan and deliver engaging music lessons that incorporate singing, rhythm, movement, and basic music theory, tailoring instruction to a diverse student body.

â— Prepare students for and direct school performances, concerts, and assemblies that celebrate musical achievement.

â— Teach foundational concepts in music history, notation, vocal techniques, and introductory instrumental skills.

â— Utilize a range of instructional strategies and musical styles to ensure all students are reached and inspired.

â— Integrate classroom technology and musical instruments (e.g., recorders, keyboards, percussion, and Orff instruments) to enhance learning experiences.

Classroom Culture & Community Engagement:

â— Establish a supportive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and academic rigor.

â— Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain an environment conducive to learning and artistic exploration.

â— Maintain a professional demeanor in both appearance and communication, representing The Munroe School with pride.

â— Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels to support school-wide events, performances, and extracurricular music opportunities.

Qualifications:

â— Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).

â— Experience teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students.

â— Proficiency with classroom instruments and music technology is a plus.

â— Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

â— A passion for fostering creativity and inspiring students to explore the world of music.
