Centennial Academy of Fine Arts is looking for a dedicated, passionate band instructor to join our arts program!
Responsible for planning instruction consistent with the district-approved curriculum and outcomes for assigned area, instruction based on formal & informal assessment of student abilities; applying principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement, including teaching problem-solving, decision-making, & goal setting; modifying instruction to meet student needs; providing clear directions, expectations, directions, & feedback; using the assessment of student outcome to measure the effectiveness of instruction & communicating student progress effectively; organizing classroom space & materials; maintaining required & necessary student records; integrating technology to enhance outcomes; promote the student to take responsibility & fulfill leadership roles; recognizing & reinforcing acceptable behavior.
This is a part time position for a Band Instructor with a specialty woodwind instruments preferred, M/T/R/F
B.A. or equivalent in Music Education required (with emphasis in instrumental music).
Teach sectional rehearsals
Co-teach combined band rehearsals
Manage band instruments.
Collaborate with other instrumental music professionals in the building to coordinate instrumental music curriculum, rehearsals, and performances.
Experience with elementary students preferred.
+ Strong background in woodwinds or woodwind specialist preferred
+ Would be part of a 3-instructor team that oversee specialty areas and collaborate for full band ensemble
+ Opportunity for teaching different ensembles, including steel drums, ukulele, and others
$52.50/class, additional pay for planning time
