Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals and possess a strong understanding of patient care practices. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in administering medications, monitoring residents' health, and ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.


Responsibilities


  • Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
  • Monitor and document residents' vital signs and health status regularly.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized care plans for residents.
  • Provide support for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other developmental disabilities.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner for effective documentation and communication.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all residents while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Engage with residents to promote their well-being and enhance their quality of life.


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient care practices is essential.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in hospice care is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 per week
