We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the overall billing cycle within a medical office environment.


Duties


  • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
  • Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient information and billing records efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to coding or billing inquiries.
  • Ensure that all medical records are accurately documented and maintained in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances
  • Set up and manage patient payment plans
  • Answer billing related phone calls
  • Post patient payments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Work and resolve aging reports
  • Contact insurance companies to follow up on claims and denials
  • Assist with special projects related to the billing department as assigned


Experience


  • Three (3) years experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and other relevant coding systems is essential.
  • Previous experience working with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and the healthcare reimbursement process.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals regarding billing matters. Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
