The Medical Assistant/Endoscopy Tech is responsible for providing support to the nursing staff in preparing patients for procedures, assisting physicians with endoscopic procedures, reprocessing equipment, and providing support to nursing staff with the care of recovering from procedures.
Provide patient support, including obtaining vital signs
Maintaining inventories of equipment and supplies
Performing safety and quality control checks to verify proper equipment functioning
Preparing pre-op, postop and procedure rooms per endoscopic procedure requirements
Cleaning, disinfecting, or calibrating scopes or other endoscopic instruments per manufacturer recommendations and facility standards
Ensure the environment is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Arranging for the maintenance or repair of endoscopic equipment
Assisting physicians, CRNA's or Nurses in the conduct of endoscopic procedures
Attending in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills
Assisting the administrator with various tasks
Assist with pre-operative and post-operative phone calls
Assist with ensuring pathology results
