Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent patient service within our facility, which includes both inpatient and outpatient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to assist in various medical procedures across different specialties, including internal medicine and dermatology.


Duties


  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including medical history and medication administration.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and performing preliminary assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans and follow-up instructions.
  • Support the daily operations of the clinic or hospital setting, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a Level II Trauma Center to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention as needed.


Requirements


  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to various specialties, including internal medicine and dermatology.
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is an advantage, particularly with inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies within the healthcare field.

Job Type: Part-time


Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour


Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
