We are seeking an Engineer Mechanic I to join our Austin office. You will design, develop, and test mechanical components, parts, and assemble product equipment, signage, and merchandising.
What Will You Be Doing?- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, parts, and assembly of product equipment, signage, and merchandising.
- Customarily and regularly develops solutions and performs prototype testing for product validation and design verification.
- Customarily and regularly creates and shares engineering data with cross-functional teams, including parts and assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering change orders.
- Utilizes engineering principles and best practices in designing parts and assemblies.
- Develops project cost estimates and justifications; implements unit cost reductions for released products. Actively works on multiple projects, coordinating design tasks and timelines with management.
- May act as a point of contact for vendors.
- 0-2 years of experience in an engineering role working with large assemblies (250-300 parts);
- Industry experience preferred.
- Experience working with manufacturing groups and third-party vendors preferred.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical design.
- Creo knowledge and experience with the Solid Works application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Some experience utilizing product design and modeling applications.
- Some experience with project lifecycle management systems preferred.
