The Meat Wrapper plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and presentation of meat products in our grocery store. This position involves wrapping, labeling, and displaying various meat items while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food handling and a keen eye for detail, contributing to an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.
- Wrap and package various cuts of meat to maintain freshness and quality.
- Label products accurately with pricing, weight, and expiration dates.
- Ensure all meat products are displayed attractively in the case.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service.
- Perform basic math calculations for pricing and inventory purposes.
- Previous experience in food handling or preparation is preferred, especially in a grocery store or restaurant setting.
- Basic math skills for accurate pricing and inventory management.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices related to food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques is a plus.
- Experience with Aloha POS systems or similar point-of-sale technology is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
