Job Description:


The Marketing Data Scientist implements advanced analytics models and solutions to yield predictive and prescriptive insights from large volumes of structured and unstructured data. This position works with a team that is responsible for researching and implementing advanced analytics models utilizing a diverse set of techniques. He/She follows advanced analytics best practices to build and execute analytical models to solve business problems. The Marketing Data Scientist provides input to department and project teams on decisions supporting projects.


Responsibilities:* Become a subject matter expert on UPS business processes, data and analytical capabilities to help define and solve business needs using data and advanced statistical methods
  • Analyze and extract insights from large-scale structured and unstructured data utilizing multiple platforms and tools.
  • Understand and apply appropriate methods for cleaning and transforming data
  • Contribute and drive data and analytical projects in an end-to-end manner working with cross-functional stakeholders to drive tangible results
  • Take the initiative to create and execute analyses in a proactive manner
  • Deliver complex analytical and visualizations to broader audiences including upper management and executives
  • Deliver analytics and insights to support strategic decision making
  • Develop insights using AI/ML applications when appropriate to solve complex business problems


Qualifications* MS in a quantitative discipline and 2+ years of relevant work experience or Ph.D in a STEM field
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience in applied statistics and statistical modeling utilizing programming languages (Ex: Python or R)
  • Familiarity cloud computing using Azure and Google cloud environments
  • Knowledge of ML approaches and the appropriate application and experience implementing them
  • Effective presentation skills utilizing PowerPoint and visualization methods to explain complex concepts


Bonus Qualifications* Experience with pricing methodologies and revenue management
  • Experience using PySpark, Azure Databricks, Google Bigquery and Vertex AI
  • Creating and implementing NLP/LLM projects
  • Experience utilizing and applying neural networks and other AI methodologies
  • Familiarity with Data architecture and engineering


The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia and will require commuting to office. Employer will not sponsor a visa for this position. Must be currently in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself.
