Job Summary


We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global medical technology company, for the role of

Manufacturing Engineer at their state-of-the-art facility in Sumter, SC (approx. 30 minutes from Columbia, SC). This facility specializes in high-volume, automated assembly and packaging of medical device products used daily in healthcare settings across the country.


As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, supporting capital projects, and optimizing manufacturing operations in a regulated, cleanroom-controlled environment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance across the production line.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and implement machine and process improvements to enhance production efficiency
  • Lead and manage capital equipment projects from concept to execution
  • Troubleshoot and maintain cam-operated, pneumatic, and servo-controlled equipment
  • Drive quality, waste reduction, and cost improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with vendors, R&D, and other departments for project execution
  • Manage project documentation, validations, and equipment change procedures
  • Supervise contractors or internal teams during equipment installation and upgrades
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs (Lean/Six Sigma)
  • Ensure GMP compliance and maintain high safety standards


Requirements


  • Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device experience preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with:
  • High-speed synchronous and asynchronous assembly platforms
  • Cam-operated and pneumatic equipment
  • Servo systems and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
  • Effective communication skills and project management ability
  • Willingness to work on-site at least 4 days per week
