Excelsior University is hiring a detail-oriented and collaborative Email/Marketing Events Manager to lead communication and engagement efforts through targeted email campaigns and strategic events. This role works closely with the enrollment marketing and recruitment teams to plan, execute, and analyze communications and event performance. Reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager, the position helps ensure prospective students receive timely, relevant, and personalized outreach. This full-time, hybrid position is based in Albany, NY, with two days per week on-site and remote flexibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and execution of segmented email campaigns aligned with enrollment goals.
  • Write compelling subject lines, body copy, and calls to action (CTAs) that drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with creative and digital teams to design effective templates and visuals.
  • Conduct A/B testing and optimize emails based on performance data and KPIs.
  • Promote recruitment events through targeted email campaigns and digital assets.
  • Coordinate with Admissions and Enrollment Marketing on event logistics and follow-up communication.
  • Manage campaign performance tracking and provide recommendations to increase engagement.
  • Build workflows, email programs, and nurture streams within Marketo.
  • Ensure alignment with Salesforce for lead tracking and segmentation.
  • Create and maintain landing pages and triggered communications tied to the enrollment funnel.
  • Maintain the email marketing calendar and align efforts with digital campaigns.
  • Share performance insights and campaign learnings with internal stakeholders.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor�s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • At least five years of experience managing email marketing and event campaigns
  • Possess strong copywriting skills with a proven ability to craft persuasive, action-driving email content
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Marketo and Salesforce is essential, as is a data-driven mindset
  • Must be able demonstrate the ability to use performance metrics and A/B testing to continually optimize digital engagement strategies


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Marketo certification
  • Experience in higher education or enrollment marketing
  • Familiarity with email deliverability, ADA compliance, and data privacy standards
  • Experience writing for diverse audiences and tailoring messages across segments


The hiring salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
