Maintenance Worker II- Full Time

Position Summary:

Vinson Hall Retirement Community (VHRC), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in beautiful McLean, VA, is seeking an

energetic and skilled Maintenance Worker II to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the community’s buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff. If you are passionate about caring for older adults and have experience in maintenance, we want to hear from you!

• Minimum 2 years of experience in building and construction fields, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  
• Plumbing and electrical experience is preferred; applicable licenses required when performing such tasks.
  
• Proficiency in performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
  
• Knowledge of general building systems, tools, and safety standards relevant to a retirement community.
  
• Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor as required.
  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediate building repairs, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, specifically tailored to the needs of a senior living community.
  
• Conduct routine maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general facility upkeep to ensure safe and comfortable living conditions for our residents.
  
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  
• Maintain the grounds and exterior areas of the community, including landscaping, snow removal, and ensuring the outdoor spaces are safe and accessible for residents.
  
• Follow established safety protocols and industry standards to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
  
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of community fixtures, equipment, and systems.
  
• Record and document maintenance activities to ensure accurate tracking and accountability of completed work and service requests.
