Job SummaryThe position will provide assistance to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and grounds. Responsible for performing basic tasks, like cleaning, organizing and moving materials, along with assisting skilled technicians with minor repairs and general labor. The helper supports a safe and efficient work environment by following safety protocols and contributing to the overall Maintenance Department. Essential Functions


  • Assist with equipment and facility repairs
  • Perform general labor (e.g., cleaning, moving items) and other projects assigned
  • Acquire tools, parts, and supplies
  • Assisting with basic carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning or electrical task under supervision
  • Maintain clean work areas and tools
  • Operate basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers to fix, replace, or repair equipment or parts of building.
  • Transport tools, materials, and equipment to various work sites within the facility
  • Assists in setting up and tearing down equipment for events or special projects
  • Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Assisting with outdoor upkeep such as mowing, trimming, weeding and etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, or general labor is a plus but not required
  • Completion of specialized safety training and certification related to industry (to remove lead, asbestos and other hazardous materials) is a plus but not required
  • Basic understanding of general maintenance concepts (e.g., minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Must clear an OIG Exclusion Search
  • Must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools, and maintenance principles and procedures
  • Must be able to learn at a faster than average pace and multi-task
  • Ability to effectively work individually or in teams with diverse group
  • Must be willing and able to respond after hours or at weekends for emergency repairs


Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to sit, stand, lay down, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, climb, dig, twist and lean up to 95% of the time
  • Must be able to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
  • Must have great physical strength and stamina in order to lift up to 50lbs or more and operate hand and power tools
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, be able to move his/her hands quickly in addition to having multi-limb coordination, which is the ability to work with both arms, both legs, or one leg and one arm.
