Title: MAINTENANCE AND FACILITIES TECHNICIAN (HANDY MAN)


Annual Salary: $65K to $90K DOE

JOB OVERVIEW


The

Maintenance and Facilities Technician (Handyman) is a non-exempt position responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and upkeep of all Cornerstone’s residential and commercial properties. This role requires a skilled professional capable of diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues, executing repair projects, and implementing solutions that enhance the longevity and efficiency of building systems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


· Perform thorough property assessments and cost analyses to identify, prioritize, and address maintenance needs across multiple locations statewide.


· Independently execute repairs across various trades, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.


· Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors as needed, ensuring direct supervision and quality control to meet performance and safety standards.


· Install, upgrade, and maintain fixtures, appliances, and custom-built components to enhance property functionality and aesthetics.


· Develop and implement a proactive preventative maintenance program to extend the lifespan of building systems and assets; assess and request approval for necessary equipment replacements or upgrades.


· Provide expert guidance to Cornerstone leadership on maintenance best practices, system improvements, and potential facility upgrades.


· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, purchases, and completed work to support operational efficiency and compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS


Required


· High School Diploma or equivalent


· 5-7 years of experience in construction, professional handyman, or related fields


· 3-5 years of experience in multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC


· Extensive knowledge of building systems, construction techniques, and safety protocols


· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex maintenance issues and implement effective solutions


· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


· Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools for maintenance and construction tasks.


· Basic computer skills necessary for generating maintenance logs, invoices, purchase requests, etc.


Preferred


· 7+ years of experience in construction, professional handyman, or related fields


· 5+ years of experience in multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC


· Relative trade certifications (e.g. electrical, plumbing, etc.) and/or membership in multiple unions

The employee is required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have sufficient mobility to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and inspect concealed but accessible spaces within existing buildings.

Office and field, including travel statewide.
