Position Summary:


As a Machinist II, this position is responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to perform machining operations on a variety of variety of stainless and brass alloy parts. Expertise in operating, programming, and maintaining various machining equipment will be essential in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. This position requires a strong understanding of machining techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):


  • Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, such as lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and CNC machines, following established procedures and specifications.
  • Read blue prints, charts, and measuring equipment.
  • Make tooling changes and adjustments.
  • Able to edit programs if needed
  • Expedite scheduled orders.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify the accuracy of machined parts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to provide input on design feasibility and suggest improvements for manufacturability.
  • Complete repetitive operations under detailed instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including setup sheets, inspection reports, and any deviations from specifications.
  • Seek assistance for resolving difficult operating problems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and uses proper safety devices as provided.
  • Abide by and actively promotes all facility safety guidelines and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a channel of communication between management and team members.
  • Monitor personal productivity to ensure that established quality and production levels are maintained to support the business mission statement.
  • Mentor and assist junior machinists to enhance their skills and knowledge in machining techniques.
  • Maintain 5-S Standards in work area.
  • Actively participate in plant improvement projects and teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications / Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in machining is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Machinist, with a proven track record of producing high-quality precision components.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including the ability to read and modify G-code
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Familiarity with manual and CNC machining equipment operation.
  • Strong understanding of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and machining methods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Ability to stand and walk 8 to 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and various chemicals.
