Line Cook III

POSITION SUMMARY

The Line Cook prepares and cooks food items according to the Nobu’s high standards of quality. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, will have 1-2 years' experience working on the line, and will have excellent attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares food needed in the restaurants and banquets to meet high quality food standards.
  
• Prepares food in accordance with menus and food recipes.
  
• Stocks production areas for efficient daily operation.
  
• Sets-up, restocks and maintains food preparation areas, while adhering to recipes including specific knife cuts and correct cooking procedures.
  
• Cooks meals according to individual tickets according to specifications.
  
• Displays knowledge and follows all procedures in sanitation and sanitary food handling.
  

OTHER:

• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  
• Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  
• Ability to accurately follow established recipe and technique guidelines
  
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
  
• Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly while providing service to many guests at any given time.
  
• Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  
• Must posses a valid Food Handler Card
  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous Line Cook experience is required, ideally 1-2 years experience, though any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability will also be considered.
  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must possess a valid Food Handler Card
