Position Summary

The Learning & Development (L&D) Coordinator supports the execution of comprehensive training and development initiatives across Security Bank of Kansas City. This role is instrumental in delivering high-quality learning experiences, administering training platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals. The L&D Coordinator will design, facilitate, and evaluate training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance in alignment with regulatory requirements and strategic priorities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The duties include but are not limited to the following:


Training Facilitation & Development


  • Deliver training on bank policies, procedures, systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide onboarding and refresher training to employees across departments
  • Partner with business units to develop, test, and implement training materials for new products, systems, or enhancements
  • Conduct training sessions in various formats including workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching


Program Design & Evaluation


  • Collaborate with department heads to assess training needs and align programs with operational goals
  • Design and implement engaging learning content that supports employee development and performance
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; recommend improvements as needed


Learning Management System (LMS) Administration


  • Assign and track required training for new hires and current staff
  • Manage annual compliance training schedules and ensure completion of required coursework
  • Maintain accurate training records and generate reports for HR and leadership


Collaboration & Support


  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding training-related questions and guidance
  • Coordinate with Retail, Operations, HR, Loans, and other departments to promote learning initiatives
  • Actively engage with leadership to gather feedback and refine training strategies


General Administration


  • Schedule and organize training logistics including materials, equipment, and room setup
  • Support continuous improvement of learning processes and tools
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience


  • Associate�s degree in human resources, education or general business, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a training, development, or educational role. Experience within banking a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)


Valued, but not required skills and experience


  • Bachelor�s Degree in Adult Learning, Business, or Education
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) - preferably OnCourse Learning
  • Familiar with the banking/financial institution legal and regulatory environments a plus
