The Landscape Porter plays a key role in keeping campus grounds clean, safe, and welcoming. This position focuses on outdoor upkeep, including regular litter and leaf removal, and light landscaping support. It’s a hands-on role that requires reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Job Description
The schedule for this position is Thursday - Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Essential Functions:* Maintains campus grounds, walks, and drives clean by removing trash, garbage, and other debris.
Other Functions:* This position may be designated as essential personnel to support business continuity during campus emergencies, disasters, or other special needs as directed by management. Essential personnel are subject to recall inside/outside their normal schedule. Additional details can be found in the Wake Forest University Policy on Weather and Other Unusual Conditions.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:* High school diploma or GED, with 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Basic knowledge of groundskeeping tools and safety practices
Accountabilities:* Responsible for own work only.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, and Repetitive Motions. Possess visual acuity to operate motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
Environmental Conditions:
Activities occur both inside and outside, subject to both environmental conditions. Subject to noise, vibrations, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
