The Laborer provides essential support to the paving team by assisting with the preparation, placement, and finishing of asphalt surfaces. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient job site and contributing to high-quality paving operations.
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris and marking areas for paving
- Transport and handle materials like asphalt, aggregate, and sand
- Operate hand tools and small machinery (e.g., shovels, rakes, tampers, wheelbarrows)
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Maintain communication with the crew to ensure smooth operations
- Fill in for flaggers on job sites when needed
- Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe job site
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the crew and project goals
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver�s license and acceptable driving record
- CDL or willingness to obtain one preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Mechanical skills are beneficial, though not required
