Job Description


Summary


The lab technician will provide support for scientists in R&D and GMP laboratory areas.


Essential Functions:


Clean laboratory glassware, dispose waste, and maintain an orderly laboratory. Prepare various solutions including dissolution media, diluents, and mobile phases. Maintain inventory, ordering, and stocking of supplies. Issue and review laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and other documentation. Support stability set downs, pulls, and disposals. Perform verifications on basic analytical equipment (balances, pipettes, pH meter). May communicate with vendors, as needed. Participate in initiatives to improve laboratory operations and complete assignments with little guidance. May support routine laboratory testing (e.g. water content, pH, XRPD, preparation of standards). Follows Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines.


Education


High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in chemistry, biology or related science or engineering field preferred.


Experience


At least 1 year in a laboratory environment preferred.


Equivalency


Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.


Competencies


  • Good general analytical chemistry laboratory skills (accurate weighing, sample/solution preparation, notebook documentation etc.).
  • Good understanding of lab supply needs and purchasing systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).


Physical Requirements


  • Typically requires standing and walking for a shift.
  • Occasionally requires lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity and visual abilities.
