Saint Michael Catholic School is seeking an experienced Kindergarten Teaching Assistant to form and educate young souls, in collaboration with parents, in the classical and Catholic intellectual tradition for the 25-26 school year. The ideal candidate should have a great love for teaching young students that can match their “abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free†(Chesterton). The candidate should understand their mission as partnering with families in student formation and should enjoy time spent in discussion with colleagues about art, music, and the Great Books. The Kindergarten TA must work collaboratively with the Kindergarten lead classroom teacher.
All Saint Michael teachers are expected to model the teachings of the Catholic Church in their own lives and to be zealous in passing them on to our students.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the classroom, a strong, guiding presence, and a solid foundation and understanding of the Catholic faith and the classical liberal arts tradition. The right candidate without some of these qualifications will be considered.
